Said to be an ornithologist’s paradise, Ethiopia boasts of some 870 bird species, largely the result of its diversity of habitats, and no less than 30 of them are endemic to Ethiopia. The following route will take you to the well-known bird sites, Awash National Park, Bale mountains national park, and the rift valley lakes.
Day 01: Arrive in Addis Ababa & bird at Gefersa reservoir. O/n Hotel
Day 02: Drive Awash en-route stop at Nazareth for lunch & Basaka for birding. O/n Hotel
Day 03: Full-day birding at Awash National park. O/n Hotel
Day 04: Drive to Langano and stop en route at Koka & Ziway for bird watching. O/n Bekele Molla hotel
Day 05: Bird watching at Lake Abijata in the morning and drive to Wondogenet in the afternoon. O/n Hotel
Day 06: Full day birding in and around Wondogenet. O/n Hotel
Day 07: Drive to Goba and stop at Dinsho, HQ of Bale Mountains National park, to watch out for Mammals & birds. O/n Hotel
Day 08: Full-day birding and game viewing on the Senate plateau and Harenna Forest of the Bale Mountains. O/n Hotel
Day 09: Drive back into the rift valley to Awassa and start birding on the shore of Lake Awassa as soon as we arrive. O/n Hotel
Day 10: Drive back to Addis Ababa and stop at Ziway for birding & at Debre Zeit for lunch. O/n Hotel
Day 11: Transfer to the airport for departure or optional arrangements are available upon request.
